Discoveries Learning Center Programming

Our site offers summer programming and care on
district professional development days, winter break and spring break.

Waverly Center: licensed for 66

 Three Year Old Full - Time Preschool
  • Child must turn three by September 15.​
  • Care available Monday -Friday 6:30 - 6:00 for up to 50 hours per week. 
  • Tuition includes all meals and snacks. 
  • Child care is available at additional charge for winter break, spring break and Waverly-Shell Rock snow days.
  • Summer care is optional.

Four Year Old Full - Time Preschool: 
  • ​Child must turn four by September 15.
  • Program hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 3:00PM, with early dismissal at 2:00PM on Wednesdays.
  • Program follows Waverly Shell Rock School calendar.
  • Summer care is optional.
  • Daily breakfast, lunch and snack provided.  
  • Tuition: Ten hours paid by Iowa Voluntary Preschool Grant.
  • Preschool Extended Day programming available from 6:30AM - 8:00AM, 3:00 - 6:00PM, and 2:00 - 6:00PM on Wednesdays. 
  • Child care is available at additional charge over winter break, spring break, and WSR snow days.

K- 4th Grade Extended Day: Maximum 24 children
  • The Extended Day program is available to children in Kindergarten - 4th Grade who have attended our early childhood classes or have siblings in our early childhood classes. Children are transported to and from Discoveries by a WSR school bus. 
  • The Extended Day program is available to children in Kindergarten - 4th Grade. 
  • Hours of operation are 6:30AM - 6:00PM.
  • Available on late starts, early outs, professional development days and school vacation breaks.
  • Once at Discoveries children are encouraged to explore a classroom designed with their interests in mind. Games, puzzles, art supplies, and reading materials are provided for each grade level. Planned activities, snacks, and outdoor playtime are a part of the daily schedule.
  • All hours are paid through units. A minimum of five units required per week, per child.
  • K-4 Extended day is limited to students who have attended our early childhood programming or have siblings enrolled in our early childhood programming.
